Retire your prozac and put on the Happy Sunglasses instead
Spy Optics, a Californian firm specializing in eyewear, has claimed their sunglasses will make you mighty happy. And it’s all due to their technologically advanced lenses which leverage on mood-enhancing light to boost our inner feel-good factor.

If you don’t already know, the sun emits different kinds of light rays, which can be grouped into “bad" and “good." Invisible ultraviolet (UVA, UVB, UVC)) rays are “bad" because they give you sunburn and indirectly cause cataracts and retinal damage. But the sun also emits “good" light via long-wave blue light which can increase production of the feel-good hormone serotonin, thus improving mood, alertness, and sleep quality.

And Spy Optics has figured out a way to craft lenses that block the bad ultraviolet rays and yet also let in the good long-wave blues. Not bad at all for a pair that costs between US$130 and US$170 – it sure beats listening to Pharrell Williams’ Happy on a loop.
